sentiments

Good Morning Monday!
This is just super exciting! This last Friday I headed down to Swift Current to work on a project with my mom! Sentiments Home and Gift, is working on a reno of their kitchenware, and the owner Elsie, asked if I would be interested in coming down to work with my mom on rearranging and displaying everything kitchen. Obviously I said absolutely YES! This was an amazing opportunity for me, for which I am so grateful. And I loved being able to work along side my mom on this project. She understands staging for a store much more than me so her guidance was imperative. Here's a few sneak peek photos of what we accomplished :)
Most of the dish and bakeware is from Emile Henry. They are just beautiful!
Loved this little mix of textiles! This rug is made of strips of leather, just so cool!
Honestly all the product in Sentiments is just beautiful. It was such an honour to be able to work with my mom and Elsie on this project. I'm heading back to Sentiments in two weeks to help spruce up the kitchen for her grand re-opening, but until then I definitely suggest you check out this new space!
Happy Monday!

crafting with feathers

Fall is here in full swing....and I don't think that there is a better time to put up some feathery decorations. Here are some of the do-it-yourself feather crafts that have got me inspired!

One of my favourite diy projects found in November 2013 issue of Chatelaine:
Love the glitter added to this feather garland...
Paper feathers...

So many lovely ways to add some fluff and feathers into your decor! Happy crafting :)

organization in style

Organization organization organization!! That has been my goal in the past couple weeks. It seems that it is so easy to accumulate "stuff" and then find that there is nowhere to put it....so piles of  "stuff" has found its way in to my house and I've decided enough is enough! One of the problem areas that I had in my house was the lack of space to keep office/papers/documents that was accessible but was also pretty. We had an old filing cabinet that was in the garage because I did not think we would use it....until now!

I started by removing the stickers and hardware and sanded the entire cabinet with a course sanding block...

Then added a coat of primer..

I had planned on painting it by brush, but had some problems with the paint and actually ended up spray painting it. Final product!
In our house at the moment, there is not really space to designate an actual "office." But there is a small corner in our dining room which houses the filing cabinet perfectly! And I think this will work well because all my computer/office type work is done at our dining table anyways!
I also decided this was a good time to do some decorating for Thanksgiving! We are having the fam over for dinner this year, which I'm so excited about! Plus it means that I can decorate and set a beautiful table! I started by spray painting branches and leaves with gold spray paint :)
I'm so excited to host the big dinner and I'm just hoping I can get everything organized by Sunday! Plus we get to meet our newest little niece, oh I can hardly wait!!
Happy Thanksgiving!
